Projections of the effects of COVID-19 on the hospitality industry have not been wholly positive. Predictions of losses, continued unemployment, and a reduction in choice for consumers are just some truths that we will have to come to terms with. However, despite this, there are some learnings which may benefit those able to weather the storm. Emphasis on hygiene, worker safety and innovation within the industry are all aspects which will hold much greater value. And, as consumers, we will never take a casual trip to our favourite restaurant or a cold pint for granted again.
